Herbal Medicine Events in the Aude and Online
The Aude, a department in the south of France, is a fabulous location to learn about the medicinal virtues of nature. At Thyme Breaks, I understand not everyone has the opportunity to visit this beautiful location so, with this in mind, I also offer online courses.
The department is named after the River Aude. This river runs through from the Pyrenean mountains to the Mediterranean sea. In addition, the area is Cathar country and has a fascinating history. The Aude landscape is stunning. If you would like to visit this beautiful area, please do get in touch. I am happy to help you arrange local accommodation to attend a Thyme Breaks workshop.

… and Herbal Courses Online !
I am constantly working on adding more online courses. These offer the perfect way to have a glimpse of this beautiful area all from the comfort of your own home. In addition, you will learn a little about medicinal plants. What’s not to like! If there is a workshop you would like to see online please get in touch.
The Tutor
That’s me in the photo. Having a herbal brew while teaching. I strongly believe knowledge of medicinal plants is part of an innate ability we all have to help us look after our own health. We just need to rekindle that ability. Due to this belief, I am passionate in teaching the medicinal virtues of wildflowers, herbs and other plants so that, as an individual, you can gain confidence in their use.

I studied herbal medicine and achieved a BSc (Hons) university degree. In addition, I have a diploma in aromatherapy and essential oil science. I have taken and passed the City and Guilds Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Award. A UK qualification, required to gain the knowledge and skills to enter teaching for the 16+ group. This teaching qualification, combined with my herbal degree and clinical aromatherapy diploma, provide the skills to impart my passion.
Workshops, walks and courses are relaxed and light-hearted. On local workshops and courses, herb tastings give the opportunity to actually taste the plants and learn first hand about their medicinal virtues. We look at some entertaining folklore and mysticism as well as scientific research. I impart personal anecdotes and historical tales. I have been known to recite a fun little ditty or poem.
Herbal Courses, Workshops and Walks
So, if interested in attending future herbal courses or workshops in this beautiful part of the world, or being kept up-to-date about online workshops, please sign up here.
Furthermore, if you seek a particular theme for a walk or workshop please contact me via the Contact Form. I will be happy to consider any suggestions. Workshops are small so everyone can get the most out of the event. If interested in arranging a workshop with a few friends, please do get in contact. Or, perhaps you may prefer a half or full day one-to-one workshop to suit your individual requirements.
In the past, I have enjoyed the challenge of many suggestions. These have included a talk on “An introduction to herbal medicine” and a lecture on “Natural Menopause”. Workshops have included “Herbs for Women of a Certain Age” and “Making Natural Gifts”.
Themed herb walks are fun. I spent a particularly enjoyable midsummer eve on a Shakespearean theme walk! This focused on the medicinal and folkloric uses of herbs from his plays. I have also spent a thoroughly enjoyable Spring morning workshop/walk with a wonderfully enthusiastic group looking at Medicinal Trees. We also drank some tree teas.
Finally, if you would like to read some of the many reviews, from previous participants of past events, or view the future schedule, please refer to ‘Thyme’ to Learn. I look forward to meeting you.
